Google finally launched pre-paid Google Play Gift cards or vouchers in India back in June. Today Google launched physical Google Play Gift cards that are now available for purchase from retail stores across India.
Similar to the pre-paid vouchers, gift cards also come in Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 Rs. 1500 denominations and lets you purchase digital content such as books, movies, apps, including in-app content and more on the Google Play store across multiple devices. Inside the card, there will be a redemption code that you can redeem on Google Play.
Google Play Gift cards are available for purchase at Spice Hotspot, Vijay Sales, Planet M, Planet Mobile and Sangeetha Mobiles or online on Snapdeal. To celebrate the launch, google has listed a range of offers on Google Play Apps, Games, Books and Movies.
Commenting on the roll out of Google Play Gift cards, Saurabh Agarwal, Head of Retail Partnerships – Google Play, India, said:

Users in India can buy games like Prince of Persia at Rs. 10 or get big discounts on movies like The Great Gatsby or Sherlock Holmes during this promotion.
