Meizu introduces mini and mini pro compact wireless routers

Meizu today introduced new compact WiFi routers at the PRO 5 smartphone launch event in China. It comes in mini pro version with dual-band 802.11ac support offering speed of up to 433 Mbps and the mini variant comes with 802.11n support. It connects directly to the power supply, so it doesn’t require a separate power cable. It has FPC antenna for a strong and wide WiFi coverage. It is compact to carry in your pocket and weighs just 71.8 grams.

It has a 4-layer double-sided PCB board design that reduces the size of the router to 67mm x 23mm. It is made of durable poly-carbonate material that makes it heat and flame-resistant. It also has a companion smartphone app that lets you configure WiFi, check the WiFi status and lets you set time so that it can automatically shut down the router when connectivity is not detected.

The mini pro router has MT7628AN (2.4GHz) + MT7610E (5GHz) processor and the mini router has only MT7628AN (2.4GHz) processor. Both these have 64MB RAM, RJ45 port, WPS or Reset button and a Blue LED indicator.

The Meizu mini WiFi router is priced at 69 yuan (US$ 11 / Rs. 715 approx.) and the Meizu mini pro WiFi router is priced at 119 yuan (US$ 19 / Rs. 1,230 approx.). These wireless routers go on sale in China soon, but no details about the global roll out yet.
