Meizu PRO 5 Unboxing

Meizu introduced the PRO 5, its latest smartphone in the new PRO series at an event in Beijing, China earlier this week. We brought you the hands on impressions of the smartphone recently, here we have its unboxing.

The Meizu PRO 5 packs a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 2.5D glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and comes in 3GB LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM with 64GB storage variants. Since it has a Hybrid Dual SIM support, you can use the second nano SIM slot for either SIM or as a micro SD slot. There is a 5-megapixel camera on the front. It has a mBack touch-sensitive home button that offers different functions based on press, which also has mTouch 2.1 fingerprint recognition built into it. It currently runs on Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), but it will get an upgrade to Flyme OS 5.0 soon.

The smartphone has a metal back, 21.6-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED Flash, Laser Auto focus, PDAF, Sony IMX230 Exmor RS BSI sensor, 6P lenses, f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording. It has Cat.6 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM slots and packs a 3050mAh battery with mCharge 2.0 quick charging feature that charges the phone up to 65% in just 30 minutes. The PRO 5 supports up to 24W fast charging, compared to the 18W fast charging in the MX5. It has Hi-Fi Sound 2.0 that combines ES9018K2M DAC chip, OPA1612 amplifier and four pairs of NXP high current transistors for an enhanced audio experience.

The Meizu PRO 5 is priced at 2799 Yuan (US$ 440 / Rs. 28,925 approx.) for 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant and 3099 Yuan ( US$ 485 / Rs. 32,030 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant It is currently available for order and will go on sale on October 12 in China.
