Skype’s latest update adds support for Android Wear

Skype has updated Android app with support for Android Wear. The latest update that bumps the app to 6.4 brings the much needed integration with Android wear.

Now, users will be able to check notifications and view messages on your Android devices. You can reply to messages by speaking to your wrist, sending emojis, or choosing a pre-written response and accept or decline calls directly from the wrist. While on a call, you can also use your Android Wear watch to mute, hang up, or pause and switch to another incoming call.

Here is the full changelog:

  • Messaging – Get notifications and view messages on your Android Wear device.
  • Reply – Quickly respond to messages by speaking to your wrist, sending emojis, or choosing a pre-written response.
  • Calls – Accept or decline calls, mute ongoing conversations, or hang up on your Android Wear device.
  • Skype Mojis: Send short clips from your favorite movies and TV shows in a Skype chat.

Skype has mentioned Android Wear devices such as the Moto 360, Huawei Watch, LG Watch Urbane, or the ASUS ZenWatch. Earlier this month, Skype added quick photo sharing and animated Mojis for Android.
