Google Photos for iOS updated with private labeling, improved performance and more

Google Photos for iOS has been updated with the latest features that were added for its Android counterpart recently. The latest update that bumps the app to version 1.4, adds private labeling and enhances performance.

With the latest update, you can now label and merge people groupings. The people labeling feature lets you add tags to photos of specific people thereby making it easier to find and organize them. After labeling the photos you can search for people,  combine people, place, and thing search terms for even more precise results. Next up, the Photos app now allows you to share animation via WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Finally, the update brings faster app startup, bug fixes, and other photo related performance improvements.

The only missing feature from Google Photos for Android is Chromecast support which Google said will come soon for iOS. The Google Photos for iOS app is available from iTunes and is a free app for both the iPhone and iPad.
