Microsoft has announced that the it is making the Hololens Developer Kit available for developers in Q1 of 2016. The kit for the Windows 10-powered augmented reality device is priced at $3000.

Developers will be able to apply online to buy a unit starting today from Microsoft’s website. The HoloLens is a fully standalone device that includes a custom “holographic processing unit,”. It is a wearable headset with a lens that combines virtual reality, augmented reality and video. Microsoft claims that HoloLens is world’s first untethered holographic computer that does not need any wires, phones or connection to a PC.
