Facebook is testing ‘Reactions’ button that includes emojis

Last month, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said that social network is working on a ‘dislike’ button. Today, Facebook is testing what is possibly the dislike button but it is calling it as ‘Reactions’.

FB Reactions-1

Facebook had said that the dislike button is not a way to “downvote” someone’s post but essentially a way to “express empathy” as not “every moment is a good moment”. The Reactions feature includes six emoticons depicting various responses such as love, laughter, happiness, smile, shock, sadness and anger. All these buttons are presented when you hold the ‘Like’ button and you can choose one from it. The status then displays counters for each reaction like number of likes, sad faces and so on a particular status.

FB Reactions-2

The new ‘Reactions’ feature starts testing tomorrow for users in Spain and Ireland. Facebook decided to test the new feature in these two markets because both have largely national user bases without extensive international friend networks, so they work better as closed test groups. Reactions are said to work on posts from both regular users as well as those from Pages. There is no official word yet on when it will be launching more widely.
