Samsung has sent out invites for the launch of a new product in India on October 14th, Wednesday. The invite just says The next level of innovation is here without giving any hints about the product, but it is likely to launch the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic smartwatches.
Both the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic watches were announced ahead of IFA last month, run on Tizen-based wearable platform, have a 1.2-inch (360×360 pixels) Circular Super AMOLED displays, rotating bezel, Home and Back buttons, IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, 512MB RAM, Heart Rate sensor, Barometer, 4GB of internal storage, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC support and pack a 250mAh Li-ion battery. The new Gear S2 series work with most Android devices running on Android 4.4 (Kitkat) or later with 1.5GB RAM and above.
The Samsung Gear S2 and S2 Classic went on sale in the U.S. earlier this month for $299.99 and $349.99, respectively. We should know the pricing for India if it launches next Wednesday.
[Update: It might not be the Gear S2 after all, Samsung is expected to introduce a new smartphone in India, but the name of the device is still a mystery.]
