Google has opened an official beta channel for the Android Google search app. Interested users can now test the latest features before anyone else by simply signing up.
Once you sign up for the beta program, you will get app updates before the general public. According to a Reddit thread, Google is actually promoting the beta test via a Google Now card. The card says the beta test will allow users to “play with experimental features before they’re released.” It will be interesting to see what all updates the beta program has to offer as the Google app is a powerhouse which includes Google search, voice commands, Google Now and Now on Tap.
You can sign up to the beta test the Google Search app here. After becoming a tester your devices will automatically update to the newest version of the Google app and jump from a v5.3 build to v5.4 but this update does not include any major changes.
