WeChat has added a new group video calling feature to its mobile apps on Android and iOS. The latest update will allow you to make free video calls with upto 9 users using the mobile apps.
Users can now start a video call in a group chat with up to nine people or can choose audio only for group voice calls. In order to use this feature, one can simply click the + menu and select “Video Call” within a group chat and choose members to join. As soon as your members accept the invite you can start chatting. You can also choose to turn off “Video” for a group voice call.
In addition to free group video calling, WeChat has added Group Notices where group owners can now edit a group notice for group members. To send group notice within a group chat, you will have to click the profile icon in the upper right corner and tap “Group Notice” and then create a text post so that all members in the group chat will be notified with a special alert.
