Huawei has shared a teaser for the Mate 8 launch event which is scheduled to take place on November 26th. The smartphone is expected to pack the same Force Touch technology as its brother, the Mate S.
The Mate 8 is expected to pack a 6 inch display with either 1080p or 1440p resolution. It will come in 3GB or 4GB RAM variants with 32GB and 64GB capacities respectively. The leaked photos that were taken from a Foxconn factory point to a metal frame which will also house a hybrid dual nanoSIM tray in which one slot can be used either for a microSD card or for a nanoSIM.
It is expected to be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 950 SoC with an octa-core big.LITTLE (Cortex A72 and A53 CPU design) and Mali T880 GPU. Huawei is also expected to announce the processor itself at an event in China on 5th Novemeber. The main camera is expected to be a 13 Megapixel unit while the secondary one is an 8 Megapixel unit. The price is expected to be around Chinese Yuan 3299 (US$ 520 or Rs 34,100) for the 3GB variant and Yuan 3,899 (US$ 610 or Rs 40,000) for the 4GB variant. Just like the event on 5th November, the event on 26th is also expected to take place in China.
