Gionee introduced Elife E8, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the E series back in June at an event in China. It was launched in India last month at a price tag of Rs. 34999. The Gionee Elife E8 has a 6-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection, is powered by an Octa-Core 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, has 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Amigo UI 3.1 on top. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front, but you don’t find a flash on the front. The smartphone has a aluminum magnesium alloy frame.
On the back there is a 23.7-megapixel camera with dual tone LED Flash, 1 / 2.3″ sensor, 6P lenses, OIS and 4K video recording. There is a fingerprint sensor below the camera module. You can also find a large speaker grill on the bottom part of the back. It has NXP Smart PA audio chip and stereo speakers with DTS support. The phone also supports NFC.
It has a removable back cover, under which you can find two SIM card slots and a microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 128GB. It has 64GB of internal storage. It has 4G connectivity with support for 4G bands for India and packs a 3520mAh built-in battery. We will bring you the complete review of the smartphone soon.
