QiKu, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer introduced the Qiku Q Terra smartphone at an event in India earlier today. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 19,999 for those who have invites and Rs. 21,999 without invites. We got our hands on the smartphone, check out the hardware walk through in this photo gallery.
The Q Terra has a 6-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with a screen-to-body ratio of 83% and 1400: 1 contrast ratio. It has almost no bezels and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection on the front. Powered by a Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with Adreno 418 GPU and 3GB of RAM, the smartphone runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) with 360 OS on top.
It has a 8-megapixel camera on the front with f/2.4 aperture, 1.4μm Pixel Size and supports 1080p video recording. It also has the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors next to the earpiece.
There are the usual set of capacitive touch buttons below the display. It measures 157.6×79.8×8.6mm and weighs 185 grams.
The volume rockers and the power button are present on the right side.
On the left there are two slots that can be removed using a ejector tool. The slot on the top is a micro SIM slot and the slot blow it is a hybrid slot that accepts a nano SIM or a microSD card up to 128GB. The smartphone has 4G LTE connectivity with support for 4G bands for India. It has 16GB of internal storage. Other connectivity features include, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS / GLONASS and it also has USB OTG support.
The primary microphone, micro USB slot and speaker grill are present on the bottom. The 3.5mm audio jack is present on the top.
On the back there are dual cameras. Qiku is calling it Duoscopic camera. The 13MP camera with Sony IMX278 sensor, f/1.8 aperture on the top captures color images, while the secondary 13MP camera with Sony IMX214 sensor captures black and white version of the same image, and combines them offering a better, crisp output. It has dual-tone LED flash for a more natural images and support 4K video recording. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back to unlock the phone in just 0.5 seconds.
The smartphone has a unibody metal build, and there is a 3700mAh built-in battery with support for fast charging.
The QiKU Q Terra will be available for purchase using a Q-Invite from December 5th exclusively from Gadgets360 online. Invites will be available through Qiku website, Forum and Gadgets360, said the company.
