Nokia had unveiled the Ozo virtual reality camera in July this year. Today, the company has announced that the camera that capture 360-degree video and audio will cost $60,000.
Nokia will launch the Ozo virtual reality camera in early 2016 that features multiple cameras across its spherical design that can simultaneously record. It features a real-time VR preview, wireless operation and full 3D 360 audio and video broadcast capabilities. Ozo captures stereoscopic 3D video through eight synchronized global shutter sensors and spatial audio through eight integrated microphones. The eight-camera shutters have an f/2.4 aperture.
“We’re at the dawn of an exciting new medium that will transform the way people connect to stories, events, and the world around them. OZO is a powerful tool designed for the professional creators who will answer the most exciting and intriguing questions about the possibilities for virtual reality.”
said Ramzi Haidamus, president of Nokia Technologies.
The Ozo is made of milled aluminum alloy and weighs 4.3kg with its lithium-ion battery and is available in Lava Grey color. It consumes 30 watts of power when recording and has no fans.
