Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will soon hit two Xiaomi devices. The Chinese smartphone maker has announced that Mi 4 and Mi Note will receive the latest Android OS update.
Mi 4 and Mi Note smartphones will be the first ones in its line-up to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Xiaomi’s MIUI Operations Manager confirmed that the update is coming to these two devices via a Weibo post. He stated that a closed beta would be made available initially which will be followed by a wider rollout. The announcement further says that the new update will not come with an upgrade to the MIUI 7 that was launched in August this year and is based on Android 5.1.
Xioami Mi 4 was launched with Android 4.4 KitKat last year and hence a bump to Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be definitely welcomed by its users. Just yesterday, Xiaomi rolled out an update for Mi 4 LTE users and offered them a choice to choose between Windows 10 or Android. Also, there is no word about Marshmallow rollout to the recently announced Redmi Note 3.
