Google Chrome 48 beta for Android gets custom notification buttons, cast presenting and more

Google has released Chrome 48 beta for Android with a bunch of new features. The latest release comes just two days after Google had rolled out the stable version of Chrome 47.

First up, Chrome 48 gets a presenter mode for the mobile web that allows mobile sites to present to Google Cast devices using the standards-based Presentation API and the Cast Web SDK. In addition, sites can now add custom buttons to notifications that will enable users to complete tasks entirely within the notification. Next up, Chrome for mobile will soon be able to detect a user’s connection speed be able to send the most optimum page resources for that connection. Sites can also respond to changes in connection quality using the NetworkInformation.onChange event handler.

You can download the beta version of Chrome through the Play Store or switch to the beta channel in the browser.
