Google had announced the Google Play Music family plan in September this year. Now, the music streaming service from Google has gone live and users can sign up for the family plan.
The new Google Play Music family plan allows up to 6 people listen to unlimited, ad free music on Google Play for $14.99 a month. All the members will get the same features that are enjoyed by an individual subscriber. Each family member gets the ability to stream simultaneously on any device. Each member will also get music recommendations tailored to their liking.
Google has also announced that a family plan on Google play will also get your family access to YouTube Red in the US. Over the next few days, Android devices in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, France and Germany should see the option to sign up become available in the Play Music app. Google said that it will expand the feature to more countries soon. Users in the aforementioned countries can listen to Google Play music on Android, iOS and the web.
For comparison Apple Music’s family plan costs exactly similar to Google’s family plan, while Spotify currently asks for $5 for each additional family member ( $29.99 for five members) on top of their standard $9.99.
