Flipkart shuts down its eBooks service, will migrate your eBooks library to Kobo

Flipkart launched its Flyte eBooks service on Android back in November 2012, later it launched the eBooks app for iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone 8 devices in August 2013. Now Indian online retail giant has announced that it has shut down its eBooks service and is not selling eBooks anymore.

You can still continue to access your eBooks from your library by downloading them on to your device, and will be able to migrate your Flipkart eBooks library to its new partner Kobo from December 17th.

“Most of the eBooks from your library will be transitioned to Kobo. In case, you cannot access a purchased title from your eBooks library on Kobo, we’ll refund you for the same into your Flipkart Account. No questions asked. Any free eBook titles from your library that are not available on Kobo, won’t be accessible to you,” said the company.

Starting from December 17th, 2015, Flipkart will be sending emails to its users to transfer their library to Kobo. If you don’t get the email by then, you can log in to your Flipkart account and visit flipkart.com/ebooks to migrate.
