Samsung Galaxy S7 rumored to feature an iris scanner

We have already seen a number of rumors of the Galaxy S7 over the past few months. Now, a new report says that the upcoming flagship from the company could sport an iris scanner.

An iris scanner could allow you to unlock the phone by simply looking at it. Working similar to a fingerprint scanner, the iris scanner will verify your identity and it could even add the ability to use the mobile payments services on your phone. The rumor that comes from a Poland-based website says that iris scanner could hike the price of the smartphone and it will be more expensive than its predecessor, the Galaxy S6 at launch. Earlier this week, images of the cases for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus had surfaced hinting at the design of both the phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 820 processor and the other variant will likely be powered by Samsung’s latest Exynos 8 Octa 8890 SoC. The Galaxy S7 series are expected to be unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked 2016 event at the MWC in Barcelona in February.
