LG SmartThinQ Hub announced, acts as a gateway to smart sensors and IoT devices

LG today announced that it will showcase SmartThinQ Hub, its new IoT device at the CES 2016 next week. The company had introduced SmartThinQ sensor at the IFA few months back that lets you monitor your day-to-day home appliances and control them via an app. The SmartThinQ Hub with a 3.5-inch color LCD display serves as a gateway to these smart sensors and connected appliances in your home.

The smart hub connects to a smartphone app and lets you control home appliances such as washing machines, refrigerators, ovens, robotic vacuum cleaners, air conditioners and a variety of sensors. It will collect information from smart appliances as well as conventional devices connected to SmartThinQ sensors via Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Bluetooth.

Data is displayed on the LCD screen that can be tilted at an angle to be easily readable or announced through its embedded speaker. The speaker can also stream music from free stations from iHeartRadio or play music from your smartphone or a tablet via Bluetooth. “The SmartThinQ Hub is compatible with a number of devices from other manufacturers and service providers that support the AllJoyn Alliance open source framework,” said LG.

The LG SmartThinQ Hub has a metallic body and comes in Champagne Gold and Black colors. LG SmartThingQ Hub, SmartThingQ sensor and other IoT products will be showcased at the CES in Las Vegas from January 6th to 9th, 2016.
