Acer Chromebook 11 (CB3-131) with 11.6 inch display announced, price starts at $179.99

Acer has announced a new addition to its Chromebook 11 line. The Chromebook 11 CB3-131 is said to be more durable and is reinforced and hardened like its business and education models. Acer claims that the device can handle up to 60kg of downward force on the top cover, while the corners can tolerate up to 60cm drops without damage.

The back cover of the Chromebook sports a nano-imprinted pattern that gives it a premium look. It sports a 11.6 inch display at 1366×768 resolution and features non glare Acer ComfyView that limits eye strain. It is powered by an Intel Celeron processor and comes in 2GB RAM and 16GB storage or 4GB RAM and 32GB storage options. The Chromebook is 0.73 inches (18.6mm) thin and weighs only 2.42 pounds (1.1kg). It supports dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. It has a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI port and SD card reader. Acer claims upto 9 hours of battery life for the device. The Chromebook 11 CB3-131 can be used to create, edit and collaborate both online and offline programs. User files that are stored on the device are in a separate partition to keep data secure.

Acer Chromebook 11 (CB3131) will be available with either 16GB or 32GB eMMC storage and either 2GB or 4GB of RAM. Pricing for the Chromebook starts at $179.99 in the US and it will be available starting February.
