Android Lollipop adoption hits 32.6%, Marshmallow still crawling at 0.7%

Google has released its Android distribution data for the month of January. Android Lollipop adoption is soaring every month and is now present on 32.6% of Android devices that is up from 29.5% since December.

Marshmallow is still crawling its way up is present only on 0.7% of Android devices. This is just a 0.2% increase in the numbers over last month since it was 0.5%. Google’s newest OS had debuted in the distribution chart in November at 0.3%. KitKat is still ruling with 36.1% down from 36.6 in December. Jelly Bean adoption also saw a drop from 26.9% to 24.7%. Ice Cream Sandwich is down to 2.7%, while Gingerbread has fallen to 3%. Finally, Froyo, Android 2.2, is now only installed on 0.2% of all Android devices. Marshmallow adoption will see a gradual increase as more devices will be updated with the latest OS.
