Google is by far the major search provider for most people in the world and it is also one of the fastest ways to search for information especially with the homescreen search bar where you can just type in and search for something directly. Google is always looking for ways to make you search experience faster, better and more intuitive and this latest experiment too aims at doing just that.
Google has added new options in the dropdown menu for its search bar. Usually you are given a list of recent search and perhaps even auto-filled and suggested searches in the drop down list. However, Google has now categorized them into the last search, recent searches, what’s hot and nearby. The first item will show you the last item you searched for and you can access slightly older ones by clicking on the recent searches option. What’s hot gives you a list of things that are popular at the moment. Nearby does what it says and gives you a list of places such as restaurants, cafes, ATMs, gas stations etc.
While the update is rolling out to devices across the globe, it may take a while before it appears on your particular Android device so do give it sometime. The new changes definitely make it much faster to find relevant information without having to enter much data.
