HP Chromebook 11 G4 Education Edition launched for $199


HP has introduced a new Chromebook that is designed for students and teachers. Dubbed as Chromebook 11 G4, the ‘Education Edition’ sports a rugged design and is tested for 70 cm drops. It is designed to pass military standard tests as well.

The Chromebook features a 180-degree hinge that enables you to lay the screen flat and also comes with an optional IPS panel that offers wide viewing angles. It boasts of a 11.6 inch screen with 1366 x 768 display and is powered by an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor with Intel HD Graphics (2.16GHz, up to 2.58GHz). The Chromebook 11 G4 EE has 4GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It comes with a HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 port, an SDXC card reader and HD webcam. The Chromebook is just 20 mm thin and weighs 2.7 pounds. Connectivity options on the Chromebook includes 802.11ac WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, and optional 3G/4G LTE.

As it is targeted at students, the keyboard is also resistant against spills and comes with built-in noise suppression technology. The HP Chromebook 11 G4 Education Edition is priced at $199 and is available in color choices of black and electric green. It is expected to be available in the United States in January 2016.
