Ola’s ride sharing service Ola Share has now expanded to Kolkata. The service will allow users who travel on the same routes to share their cab rides with users from social groups they are part of starting today.
Ola Share offers you an option to choose your fellow passengers with the help of the ‘Social Groups’ feature. Commuters can create their own social groups inside the app by providing email contacts for friends, family and colleagues. A user can join multiple groups or just choose to share a ride with anyone. As an introductory offer, Ola is giving its customers in Kolkata a flat 50 percent discount on Ola Share fares over the coming month.
After seeing tremendous adoption and response for Ola Share in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, we are thrilled to bring Ola Share to Kolkata. As one of India’ s most populous cities, Kolkatta can benefit immensely from shared mobility options.
said Category Head – Shared Mobility, Ishan Gupta.
Ola launched Ola Share in October last year and expanded it to Delhi-NCR in December and later in Mumbai. Ola plans to take Ola Share to 20 cities across the country over the next six months with an aim to make urban transportation economical and efficient.
