Samsung and Apple were top buyers of semiconductors in 2015

Samsung and Apple retained the top spots in terms of number of semiconductors purchased during the year 2015. Samsung came in at first place while Apple came in a close second.

Samsung spent a total of  US$ 29.867 Billion on semi-conductors which is slightly lesser than the amount of US$ 30.989 Billion that they spent in 2014. Nevertheless, that figure was enough for Samsung to hold onto 1st place while Apple came in at second with US$ 29.116 Billion. Apple in comparison spent more in 2015 compared to a figure of US$ 27.177 Billion that they spent in 2014.

Lenovo climbed up the ranks from 4th place to 3rd place in 2015 by spending US$ 13.329 Billion. Last year, HP took 3rd place however this time, they fell down to 5th place with just US$ 8.634 Billion spent on semi-conductors. The top 10 companies together purchased US$ 123 Billion dollars which accounts to 36.9 percent of the 2015 market share. In 2014, the top 10 accounted for 37.9 percent of the market share.
