Samsung launched the A5 (2016) smartphone in India for Rs. 29,400 at the Samsung Forum 2016 event in Malaysia earlier today. We are live at the event and went hands on with the phone, so let’s take a detailed look at the hardware and specifications of the phone in this photo gallery.

The Galaxy A5 (2016) sports a 5.2-inch FHD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 1.6GHz Octa Core processor. Running Android 5.1 (Lollipop), the phone comes with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, expandable (up to 128GB) via micro SD slot.
It has a 5MP front camera at the center along with the earpiece and Samsung branding. The usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors are also present.
The trademark home button on the bezel at the center has a built-in fingerprint sensor. There are two capacitive touch buttons on either side of the home button.
Volume rocker keys are present on the left side of the phone. The phone measures 144.8 x 71.0 x 7.3mm and weighs 155g
The power/lock button and SIM card slot is situated on the left side. Also present is a dual SIM card slot along with a separate SD.
At the back, the phone has a 13MP camera with OIS. The Samsung and Duos branding is present at the back.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0, NFC (UICC, eSE). It comes with 2,900mAh built-in battery and support for fast charging. Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) will go on sale in India exclusively through Snapdeal online and offline stores starting from February 15th.
