Mukesh Bansal, Flipkart’s head of commerce and founder of Myntra has announced his exit from the company. In addition, Chief Business Officer at Flipkart Ankit Nagori is also leaving the company.
The announcement comes soon after Binny Bansal co-founder was made chief executive officer and Sachin Bansal elevated to the role of executive chairman last month. Mukesh says he is taking a break before launching his own startup. He will continue with Flipkart until end of March, while Nagori will stay on until May. Mukesh who founded Myntra in 2007, sold it to Flipkart for a reported sum of $375 million. Meanwhile, Nagori stated that he will launch a sports talent development company that will be funded initially by Flipkart co-founders Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal. As a result of the resignation from the two executives, Binny Bansal will now consolidate Flipkart in order to compete against the likes of Amazon.in and Snapdeal.
