Xiaomi unveiled its flagship Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro smartphones earlier today in China. We got to check out both the smartphones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 in Barcelona. We already brought you the photo gallery of the Mi 5, here is our hands-on impressions.

Both the variants have a 5.15-inch 1080p curved glass IPS display with 95% of the NTSC color gamut, up to 600 nits brightness and 1500: 1 contrast ratio, are powered by a Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor, run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 7 on top and fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button.
The 4MP camera is present on the front with 2um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.
The Mi 5 has a glass back and comes in black, white and golden color variants. Even though the phone has a 5.15-inch screen, it is just 69.2mm wide, so that it is easy to hold.
There is a 16MP camera on the back with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 4-axis OIS and 4K video recording.
The high-end Mi 5 Pro with ceramic back comes only in black color.
The ceramic back is not reflective like the glass back variants.
It has USB Type-C port on the bottom.
The phone is just 7.25mm and weighs just 129 grams for the glass back version and 139 grams for the ceramic back.
The phone has a unique curved finish and has a brushed metal finish on the sides.
The power button and the volume rockers are present on the right side, while the SIM slot with dual nano SIM trays are present on the left side.
The Mi 5 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and 1.8GHz Snapdragon 820 variant is priced at 1999 Yuan (US$ 306 / Rs. 20,969 approx), 3GB RAM, 64GB storage and 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 version is priced at 2299 Yuan (US$ 351 / Rs. 24,092 approx) and the high-end Mi 5 Pro 4GB RAM, 128GB storage and 2.15GHz Snapdragon 820 variant with Ceramic back is priced at 2699 Yuan (US$ 413 / Rs. 28,312 approx.). The Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro go on sale in China on March 1st and will be available in India soon. No details about the exact time frame of the roll out yet.
