It is powered by NVIDIA Tegra X1 processor with 256-core Maxwell architecture GPU, 64-bit CPU, has 3GB RAM and runs on Android TV OS, which has been upgraded to Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
It supports 4K Ultra-HD with 4K playback and capture up to 60 fps (VP9, H265, H264), has 7.1 and 5.1-channel surround through over HDMI, High-resolution audio playback up to 24-bit/192kHz over HDMI and USB and supports a range of connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0 (Type A), Micro-USB 2.0 and a MicroSD slot.
You can also share content from Android devices via Cast.The SHIELD Remote that operates via Bluetooth has a microphone for Google voice search.
