Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge expected to be priced at Rs. 49000 and Rs. 59000 in India

Samsung is all set to launch the company’s flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in India at an event in Delhi tomorrow. We have got hold of the pricing for 32GB variants of both the smartphones. The Galaxy S7 is expected to be priced at Rs. 49,000 and the Galaxy S7 edge is expected to be priced at Rs. 59,000. Last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge were launched in India starting at Rs. 49,900 and Rs. 58,900, respectively.

 

No details about the pricing for 64GB variants yet, but those are expected to cost Rs. 6,000 more than the 32GB variants, similar to the S6. Samsung today launched both these smartphones in China at 4888 yuan (Rs. 50,350 approx.) and 5688 yuan (Rs. 58,595 approx.) in China earlier today.

Both these smartphones were announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month, pack a 5.1-inch Quad HD and 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on displays, respectively. In India these phones will be powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 SoC, instead of Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor.

Both these run on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), come with a 12-megapixel Dual pixel rear camera with LED flash, OIS, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 3D glass, metal design, IP68 ratings water and dust resistance and hybrid dual SIM support that lets you use the second slot as a expansion slot when required. These smartphones are expected to go on sale in India country later this week or early next week.
