BlackBerry Priv Camera Samples

BlackBerry launched its flagship Priv smartphone running Android earlier this year for Rs. 62,990. We already brought you the photo gallerybenchmarks and the battery life test results of the smartphone, here we have the camera samples. The Priv has a 18-megapixel rear camera certified by Schneider-Kreuznach, has a dual-tone LED Flash, optical image stabilization (OIS), phase detection auto focus (PDAF), f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with  f/2.8 aperture and 1.7 micron pixel size.

The camera UI is simple, has toggles for flash, front camera, timer, different modes (slow-mo video, video, photo and panorama), HDR and option lets you choose aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3 and 1:1). It also has different effects. Sadly it doesn’t have manual camera mode.

Coming to the image quality, daylight shots are good. Macro shots are good as well and the focus is quick, thanks to PDAF. HDR shots are good as well. Low-light shots have noise as usual, but the images are not too bad. Images with flash are good. The dual-tone flash helps to bring natural tone and is not overpowering.

The 2MP front-facing camera is just average for selfies and video chats, especially in indoors with low lighting. Overall the phone has a decent camera for the price.

It can record videos at a maximum of 4K UHD ( 3840 x 2178 pixels) resolution at 30 fps, 1080p full HD resolution at 60 fps and can also record slow motion 720p video at 30 fps. Video is decent with good details. Audio is crisp since it has a secondary microphone. Check out the video samples below.
