We already brought you the unboxing, benchmarks and the camera samples from the smartphone, here we have the battery life test results of the smartphone. The Mi 5 has a 3000mAh (typ) / 2910mAh (min) lithium-ion polymer battery with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. It has a 5.15-inch 1080p display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 820 SoC and runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 7 on top. Check out the test results.
Talk Time
It lasted for 33 hours and 19 minutes in our talk time test.
3G Browsing
It lasted for 6 hours and 42 minutes in our 3G browsing test, better than the Galaxy S7.
WiFi Browsing
It lasted for 8 hours and 22 minutes in our WiFi Browsing test and grabs the fourth spot, behind few of the Samsung smartphones.
Video Playback
It lasted for whopping 25 hours and 2 minutes in our Video Playback test and topped the chart. The display consumes very less power, thanks to Xiaomi’s optimization and for using a 1080p screen instead of Quad HD screen.
It achieved a One Charge Rating of 18 hours and 19 minutes, which is pretty good for a phone with a 3000mAh battery. This is mainly due to brilliant talk time and video playback results.Check out our battery test procedure, to know more about our tests in detail. We will bring you the complete review of the smartphone soon.
