Flipkart’s Chief Product Officer Punit Soni quits

Punit Soni, has quit his position as Flipkart’s Chief Product Officer, according to a report from the Economic Times.

The move comes from Soni only about a year after his appointment as Chief Product Officer at Flipkart in March 2015. He was leading the product definition and innovation charter for Flipkart consumer products, marketplace and transaction platform. Prior to his stint at Flipkart, Soni was involved in the making of Google’s products like Google News, Google Books, Google Plus, Google Mobile and a suite of Motorola devices including Moto X, Moto G and Moto E.

At the start of this year, Flipkart made some important leadership changes and announced that co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO), Binny Bansal has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) while Sachin Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Flipkart is now the Executive Chairman. Immediately in February, Mukesh Bansal, Flipkart’s head of commerce and founder of Myntra announced his exit from the company while Chief Business Officer at Flipkart Ankit Nagori also put his papers.
