Docoss X1 is India’s new affordable 3G smartphone priced at Rs. 888, next Freedom 251?

After the Rs. 251 smartphone, Freedom 251 from Noida-based Ringing Bells, Docoss, a Jaipur-based company today launched its X1 smartphone for Rs. 888. It has a 4-inch WVGA display, is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor, has 1GB of RAM, comes with 3G connectivity and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera.

The Docoss X1 booking started today at 6AM and ends 10PM on April 29th, but we couldn’t book using the official website. It will start delivering the phone from as early as May 2nd, which is next month. The company says it will also accept cash on delivery at Rs. 99 extra and also lets you book the phone over SMS. Government investigation found out the Freedom 251 as a scam. Will this end up like the Freedom 251? Only time will tell.
