Apple has hired former Nest VP and co-founder of Google X Yoky Matsuoka. She will work on health projects at Apple, according to a latest report from Fortune.
The report said that Matsuoka is working for chief operating officer Jeff Williams who oversees Apple Watch and the company’s health initiatives, including HealthKit, ResearchKit and CareKit. Prior to her stint at Google and Next, Matsuoka was a robotics professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where she taught Nest co-founder Matt Rogers.
Matsuoka has experience in robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In recent times, we have seen Apple’s focus on all the aforementioned areas and the company has even made some acquisitions in similar companies.
