The Xiaomi Bluetooth Speaker was introduced in India recently and retails at a price of Rs 1,999. We’ve already shown you the unboxing of the Indian retail unit but here is the unboxing of the Chinese unit which has one major difference compared to its Indian counterpart.
The contents of the box are the same as the Indian variant :
- Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth speaker in Golden color
- Carry pouch
- User manual

The major difference between the Chinese variant and the Indian one is that the former has a microSD card slot that will allow users to use the speaker as a standalone source of audio without needing to be connected to another source via Bluetooth or AUX.
The speaker has a nice design with good build quality thanks to the solid metal. The pink colour isn’t as gaudy as we expected it to be and is in fact a bit refreshing compared to most other monotonous colour choices offered by other speakers on the market.
The right side houses the AUX input, built in mic, microUSB port and the microSD card slot. You can use just about any microUSB cable that you have lying around to charge the device. The mic allows for voice calls and the speaker intelligently pauses music when you pick up a call by just pressing the play button.
The left side houses music controls such as Play/Pause, Seek/Skip/Volume buttons and a Bluetooth pairing/ Battery indicator button. There is also a 1500 mAh built in battery that can provide upto 8 hours of playback on a single charge. Check out review of Mi Bluetooth speaker, if you are planning to get one.
