Acer has announced two affordable 2-in-1 devices Windows 10 – Switch V 10 and Switch One 10 that are aimed at students. Both the devices sport 10 inch display withIPS technology for wide viewing angles and vivid color.
The 2-in-1 devices are powered by the latest quad-core Intel Atom processors and support Windows 10 Precision Touchpad gestures. They sport Acer Snap Hinge latch-less magnetic hinge design that lets you transform the it in four different modes – notebook, tablet, tent and display mode.Acer claims that the Switch V10 feature a touch display panel on Switch V 10 is covered by Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass, which contains an antimicrobial agent to help protect the surface from odor and stain causing microorganisms and reduce their growth on touch.
There are camera as well at front and back. It comes with a built-in fingerprint reader, comes in 32GB and 64GB options and has a dock for an additional 500GB of HDD data storage. It supports a dual-band MIMO 802.11ac wireless connection, two extra USB Type-A ports and a slim keyboard dock. Acer claims that the Switch V10 offers upto 9 hours of battery life. It comes in in Pearl White, Shale Black, Coral Red, Peacock Blue and Navy Blue color options.
The Switch One 10 also has a fingerprint reader and is powered by latest quad-core Intel Atom processors. Acer claims that Switch One 10 offers upto 8 hours of battery life. It comes in with a stylish dark grey brushed-metal cover. The Switch V10 starts at a price of $249 and will be available in Q3 2016 in the US. while the Switch One 10 starts at $199. and will be available in July also in the US.
Acer has also launched two notebooks in the Travelmate P2 series – TravelMate P249 and TravelMate P259. Available in 14 inch and 15.6 inch variants, the notebooks are powered by Windows 10 and come equipped with the latest Intel 6th gen Core CPU, NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics. They also feature an optional built-in fingerprint reader that allows you to login instantly and securely with Windows Hello. Both devices sport a textile pattern cover that is scratch-resistant.
They come with Skype for Business certification plus Acer TrueHarmony and 2 stereo speakers ensure a friction-free, optimized audio and visual communication. The devices feature Full HD backlit LED displays and supports connecting to three independent displays so users are able to work efficiently with multiple documents. Trusted Platform Module (TPM2.0) provides hardware-based encryption keys to help secure your data, e-mail, and user credentials while Kensington lock prevents physical hardware from being stolen. Finallt, they come with Acer ProShield that protects authentication and secures valuable data; Acer Office Manager enables easy, centralized control of IT policies and assets.
The TravelMate P2 series will be available in America later this year starting at $599.
