Xiaomi introduced Mi Max, it’s first phablet with a huge 6.44-inch screen last month. We managed to get one from iBuygou and recently did a live unboxing of the smartphone, check out the unboxing video below.

The Mi Max has a 6.44-inch 1080p IPS 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 or a Octa Core Snapdragon 652 SoC. It runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with MIUI 7 on top and will get the MIUI 8 update soon. We have the base variant with 3GB of RAM, Snapdragon 650 SoC and 32GB of storage. It has minimal bezels on the side. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with 85-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture.
The phone has a metal body, similar to the Redmi Note 3 and the build quality is pretty good. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back and there is a 16-megapixel camera with dual-tone LED Flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and f/2.0 aperture. It has hybrid dual SIM slot, similar to the Redmi Note 3 and packs a huge 4850mAh battery.
It starts at 1499 yuan (US$ 227 / Rs. 15,290 approx.) for the base variant we have and goes up to 999 yuan (US$ 303 / Rs. 20,415 approx.) for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage and Snapdragon 652 SoC variant. We will bring you the benchmarks, photo gallery and more soon.
