Kingston has launched its affordable UV400 Solid State Drive in India. It is powered by a four-channel Marvell controller that promises read speeds of up to 550MB/s and write speeds of up to 500MB/s, and is 10x faster than a 7200RPM hard-disk drive (HDD). “Rugged and more reliable and durable than a hard drive, UV400 is built using Flash memory so it’s shock and vibration-resistant and less likely to fail than a mechanical hard drive,” said the company.
It is available in a bundle kit that includes everything needed to install the SSD in your existing system, including a USB enclosure to transfer data, a 2″–3.5″ adapter to mount in a desktop environment, a SATA data cable and a coupon for an Acronis data migration software download.

The Kingston UV400 SSD is priced at an MRP of Rs. 5,999 for 120GB capacity and Rs.10,000 for 240GB capacity. It will be available in all leading Indian retail and e-commerce sites in India. It is backed by a limited three-year warranty. It will be available in 480 GB and 960GB capacities soon.
