Ultimate Ears’ UE BOOM 2 and UE Megaboom speakers have received Siri and Google Now voice integration. Now you can simply use Siri and Google Now voice to say the speakers to play music making it faster and easier.
“The new push-to-talk feature brings even more convenience to UE’s award winning on-the-go Bluetooth speakers. This latest integration amps up the possibilities of where you can take your music and how easily you can access it all,” said the company.
Steps to use voice integration
On iOS:
- To activate voice commands, press the Bluetooth button on your speaker once. You should hear a tone and the Bluetooth button will blink on and off, indicating that Siri is listening.
- Say a command such as, “Play Indie music” or Play R&B music”.
Note: You do not need to have the UE speaker app running in the background.
On Android:
- Make sure the App is running in the background.
- To activate voice commands, quickly press the Bluetooth button once. You should hear a tone and the Bluetooth button will blink on and off, indicating that Google Now is listening.
- Say a command such as, “Play Electronic music” or “Play Pop music”.
These speakers are waterproof (IPX7), rugged and offer 360-degree sound. The latest update is available through UE Boom and UE Megaboom apps for Android and iOS devices.
UE BOOM 2 was launched in India last month for Rs. 15995 and the UE Megaboom is yet to launch in the country.
