Google Play Music finally coming to India?

It looks like Google Play Music is finally making its way to India. A couple of Reddit users  (via)are able to play selected songs from app’s catalogue via its desktop version.

These Reddit users are able to access Play Music that was not accessible in the country until now. However, they cannot take full advantage of Play Music as only couple of features can be accessed. In addition, the service is also showing songs and album prices in Indian currency. As per the screenshots, a single song is priced at Rs. 15 and Rs.95 for an entire album.

Besides Play Music service, Google is also expected to launch its YouTube Red service in the country.  Another user on Reddit posted a screenshot showing a notification explaining the ‘Background Play’ feature in the YouTube Red. For those unaware, YouTube Red is ad free subscription video streaming service that was launched in October last year.

There is no official word from Google on when it will officially launch Google Play Music and YouTube Red subscription-based services in India. It is about time Play Music rolls out in the country. Currently, music streaming services like Saavn, Gaana and Hungama have made a mark for them.
