Gionee announced the M6 and M6 plus in China yesterday at an event. We have got our hands on the M6 so let’s take a detailed look at the specifications and hardware of the phone in this photo gallery.
The Gionee M6 sports a 5.5-inch (1920× 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display and is poweered by a 1.8GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755M) processor with Mali T860MP2 GPU. Running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo OS 3.5 on top, the phone has a 4GB RAM, 64GB /128GB internal memory while the expandable memory up to 128GB with micro SD.
It has a 8MP front-facing camera with Omnivision OV8856 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1.12um pixel size. There is an earpiece and usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors .
There is a physical button at the center that comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor. Two capacitive touch buttons are present on either side.
The power/lock button and volume rockers are present on the right side of the phone. Also present is dedicated dual SIM card slot.
A 3.5mm audio jack and IR sensor is present on the top. The phone measures 152.3x 75.3x 8.2mm and weighs 180 grams.
At the back, the phone has a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, Sony IMX258 sensor, 5P lens and 1.12um pixel size. The new Gionee branding is also seen at the center.
The phone has a unibody metal design and antenna bands are present at the top and the bottom at the back.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. The phone has a 5000mAh battery and supports fast charging. The Gionee M6 come in Champagne Gold and Latte Gold colors. It is priced at 2699 yuan (US$ 404 / Rs. 27220 approx.) for the 64GB version and the 128GB version is priced at 2899 yuan (US$ 434 / Rs. 29225 approx.). It will go on sale in China from August 6th.
