Gionee had announced the M6 and M6 Plus smartphones at an event in China earlier this week. We were live at the event and got a quick hands on with both the phones. We have already seen the photo gallery for M6 and now let’s take a detailed look at hardware and specs of the M6 Plus.
Gionee M6 Plus sports a 6-inch (1920× 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by a 2GHz Octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor with Mali T860MP2 GPU.
Running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Amigo OS 3.5 on top, the phone comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB /128GB internal memory, while it is expandable up to 128GB via dedicated micro SD slot.
The phone has earpiece at the center, 8MP front facing camera with Omnivision OV8856 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, notification LED and usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors.
A physical home button is present at the center that comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor. There are two capacitive touch buttons on either side.
The power/lock button and volume rockers are present on the right side of the phone. The phone measures 160.5 x 80.6 x 8.2mm and weighs 215 grams.
Loudspeaker grills and micro USB port are present at the bottom. It has infrared sensor on top.
At the back we have a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF. The Gionee branding is present just below it.
The phone has a metal alloy unibody design with zircon sand surface coating that offers a smooth finish. Antenna bands are also present at top and bottom.
Connectivity options on the phone inlcudes 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. It has a 6020mAh battery with fast charging. The Gionee M6 Plus costs 2999 yuan (US$ 449 / Rs. 30230 approx.) for the 64GB version and the 128GB version is priced at 3199 yuan (US$ 479 / Rs. 32249 approx.).
