Facebook records $6.44 billion in revenue, over 1B mobile DAU in Q2 2016

Facebook has announced financial results for Q2, 2016. The social network recorded $6.44 billion in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2016.

Facebook said it now has 1.71 billion monthly active users (up 15 percent year over year) adding 60 million new users since last quarter. Daily active users (DAU) were 1.13 billion on average for June 2016, an increase of 17% year over-year. The social network had 1.57 billion mobile users (up 20 percent year over year). Facebook announced another milestone of 1.03 billion mobile daily active users (a 22 percent increase year over year).

Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO said,

Our community and business had another good quarter. We’re particularly pleased with our progress in video as we move towards a world where video is at the heart of all our services.

Mobile advertising revenue represented approximately 84% of advertising revenue for the second quarter of 2016, up from approximately 76% of advertising revenue in the second quarter of 2015.
