Next gen NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 reportedly cancelled

NVIDIA had announced the SHIELD tablet with Tegra K1 in 2014 following which it launched the SHIELD Tablet K1. However, it looks like we might not see the successor for the SHIELD Tablet K1.

NVIDIA has reportedly cancelled its plans for the next generation SHIELD Tablet K1. Earlier in May, NVIDIA tablet was spotted at the FCC, hinting that maybe NVIDIA had a new tablet in the works. Android Police has revealed a document which is dismissal request letter that was submitted by NVIDIA to the FCC. According to the letter, it states that the company had decided to cancel the product due to “business reasons”. NVIDIA has not mentioned details about these reasons.

The SHILED Tablet K1 was a powerhouse with Tegra K1 SOC and was well received. It must be noted that NVIDIA has not officially confirmed if it is axing the next generation SHIELD tablet.
