Xiaomi today released global stable MIUI 8 ROMs and also started rolling out OTA updates for Redmi 1S, Mi 2/2S, Mi 4i, Redmi Note 3G and Redmi Note 4G smartphones, as it had promised.
Xiaomi users with these smartphones can head to this MIUI forum thread to download and flash the ROM manually. OTA update will gradually roll out for these phones.
Xiaomi says that devices running MIUI 8 based on Android 4.4 (Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G) don’t support ‘Second space’ and ‘Dual apps’ due to the limitation of hardware platform.
As Xiaomi already said, it will roll out MIUI 8 ROMs and OTA updates for other devices such as Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3 (Snapdragon 650), Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi 3, Redmi 3S/Prime, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 5, Mi Note and Mi Max 32GB gradually.
