Acer has announced first notebook that is less than 10mm thick at the ongoing IFA 2016 in Berlin. Dubbed as Swift 7, the ultra-thin notebook weighs just 1.1kg.
It has all-aluminum uni-body, sports a 13.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080)IPS display with a micro-bezel and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass on top. The notebook is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor and comes with 8GB memory and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10, connectivity options on the Swift 7 includes two USB Type-C ports on-board, along with an HDR-enabled webcam.
The laptop features a fanless design thanks to the Kaby lake chipset. Acer is promising up to 9 hours of battery life with Swift 7. Acer Swift 7 will be available in North America in October with prices starting at $999; in EMEA in October with prices starting at €1,299 and in China in September with prices starting at ¥6,999.
In addition to Swift 7, Acer has also announced Swift 5, Swift 3 and Swift 1 ultra Windows 10 notebooks. Swift 5 and Swift 3 notebooks sports metal chassis and are powered by 7th generation Intel Core processors, Solid StateDrives, USB 3.1 Type-C ports and fingerprint scanners. Swift 5 is 14.58 mm thick and weighs 1.36kg while the Swift 3 is 17.95mm thick and weighs 1.5kg.
Finally Swift 1 features a 14-inch HD display, an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, 4GB of memory and either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of eMMC. It is 17.9mm thick and weighs 1.6kg.
