HP Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice Windows 10 desktop PCs announced


HP Pavilion Wave

HP has announced two new desktop PCs with Windows 10 dubbed as Pavilion Wave and Elite Slice. The desktops have a sleek design and look like small boxes.

The Pavilion Wave is a trangular PC that looks like a Bluetooth speaker. It comes with dual microphones that enables Cortana with voice integration. The PC has a parabolic reflector with an integrated speaker on top for a 360-degree audio experience.  It is powered by Windows 10 and offers support to up to 4K displays out-of-the-box. The PC comes with three USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port for data transfer, one HDMI port, one DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet and a microphone/headphone jack.

It can be powered up to 6th Generation Intel Core i7 quad-core desktop processors with ample storage up to 2 TB HDD, an optional dual drive with 128 GB SSD5 and up to 16GB of DDR4 system memory. The Pavilion Wave also offers optional AMD Radeon R9 M470 discrete graphics for photo and video editing or light gaming.

HP Elite

The HP Elite Slice is a compact PC with cable-less connectivity. It measures 6.5” x 1.38” x 6.5” and weighs 2.31 lbs. HP says this is the first commercial desktop powered from a display via only one USB 3.1 Type-C cable with a Type-C compatible display including the optional new Quad HD HP EliteDisplay S240uj Monitor. The display is equipped with integrated wireless charging and USB Type-C to perfectly complement the desktop.

HP Elite Slice versatility is provided by cover and base expansion options such as  Collaboration Cover, Wireless Charging Cover, Audio Module and ODD Module. It comes with optional fingerprint sensor and can be powered up to 6th Generation Intel Core i7 35-watt processors. It features 360-degree dual fan pipe ring and has one Ethernet port, built-in Wi-Fi module and antennas, one HDMI and display port.

Pricing and Availability

HP Pavilion Wave starting price is $549.99 and is expected to be available on HP.com and select retailers on September 23, 2016. The HP Elite Slice starts from $699 and is also expected to be available in September.
