Huawei today announced the Nova Plus smartphone at the ongoing IFA 2016 in Berlin. We are live at the event and got our hands on the phone, so let’s take a detailed look at the hardware and specifications of the phone.
The Nova Plus sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 450 nits brightness. It is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor (4 xA53 at 2.0 GHz + 4 x A53 at 2.0 GHz) with Adreno 506 GPU and comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory that can be expanded with microSD. The phone runs Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on top.
The phone has a earpiece at the front along with the usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors. There is a 8 MP front facing camera along with LED notification.
There is a Huawei branding on the bezel which is curved around the edges. The phone has three on screen touch buttons.
The power/lock button and volume rockers are present on the right side.
On the left side you have hybrid Dual SIM slot (nano+nano/microSD). The phone measures 151.8×75.7×7.3mm and weights 160g.
Loudspeaker grills and a USB Type C port are present at the bottom.
A 3.5mm audio jack and a microphone are present on the top.
At the back the phone has a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF, OIS. A fingerprint sensor is present just below the camera module.
The Nova Plus sports a unibody metal design that offers a premium look. Connectivity options on the phone include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, USB Type-C. It comes with a 3340mAh battery.
Huawei Nova Plus comes in Prestige Gold, Mystic Silver and Titanium Grey colors. It is priced at 429 Euros(US$ 478 / Rs. 32010 approx.) and will be available in October.
